1/8 Takamura is a clothing and accessories creation studio based in Mexico City since 2012; its founder and artistic director Guillermo Vargas firmly believes in the construction of meaning through design; always in search of universality, a fundamental interest that materializes, tells stories, creates connections and contributes meanings. At 1/8 Takamura we are moved by the trade of design, crafts, creating clothing and sharing our vision of ready-to-wear. Our interest is in search, trial, discovery and collaboration. Guillermo Vargas Founder and Artistic Director. With an experience of more than 21 years in the national fashion industry; Guillermo Vargas completed his professional studies at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Moda, Casa de Francia and did his internships in Paris with Isabel Marant and in New York with Christine Alcalay. Through 1/8 Takamura professes a great love for the craft of garment construction and questions how to be a transgressor without being invasive? Creations that arise from a thoughtful understanding of the craft and result in pieces with deep meanings.
